Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls - 12 Inch Dance Mix
This is the original 1980's 12 inch dance mix of Pet Shop Boys classic song West End Girls, which reached #1 in the UK, Canada and the U.S. during 1985. Featuring on the synth duo's debut album Please, the song was originally produced by Bobby Orlando and released in October 1984. The single was re-worked by producer Stephen Hague and re-released in October 1985, and gave Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe their first commercial success. West End Girls was one of twelve Top 20 UK hits for the duo during the 1980's, and it was inspired by T.S. Eliot's poem The Wasteland. Interestingly, Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 1986 hit single Warriors of the Wasteland was also inspired by the same poem.
