Kraftwerk - The Model on a Yamaha Electone HX-3

This is an excellent instrumental version of the 1982 hit song by the German electronic music maestro's Kraftwerk. Everything has been created with just a Yamaha Electone HX-3 Synth, with the lead parts being played live in the video. I must say, this is played really well and I adore some of the sounds that synth is producing!

Kraftwerk experienced their first commercial success in 1970 with their self-titled debut album reaching #30 in their home country. However, their first single to chart wasn't until 1975, when Autobahn (the title track from the album) reached #9 in Germany, #11 in the UK and #25 in the U.S.

Lifted from the album The Man-Machine, The Model originally charted in the UK as the B-side to Computer Love, reaching #36 in 1981. After DJ's started playing the B-side, EMI decided to re-issue the single with The Model on the A-side. The song gave Kraftwerk their only #1 in the UK in February 1982. The song was actually recorded in 1978 and was originally released in the same year in Germany, reaching #7 in the singles chart.
